1920’s Oak Flooring Big Question Today
These are the 1920’s PINE FLOORING that is throughout the house. We are working on the upstairs bedrooms and hallway and deciding what to do with these floors. I plan to put area rugs in each room & hallway which is period correct for this American Foursquare and exactly what they did back then since there is a rim of ‘painted’ flooring around the edges in a brown color (popular at the time). So tomorrow I plan to vacuum it and clean it really good with hopes of just painting the perimeter. What color?? Not sure. I’m calling on an interior decorator & color consultant to help me decide before I take out the brushes. It will be a while before we paint anything in the upstairs because of all the dust that will be occurring as we work on the bathroom & laundry room on the second floor.
